Quick facts

The Dogue de Bordeaux (Pronunciation - Dog de Bor-doe), also known as the French Mastiff is a stunning, reddish-fawn-colored dog with a powerful build, deep wrinkles, and a massive head with pendulous jowls. This ancient Mastiff's history is so old and rich that their exact origins have been lost to time but predate the country in which they are named after. While the DDB once served as warriors and guard dogs, this now family companion is a devoted, affectionate, even-tempered breed with the proper training.

About dogue de bordeauxs

The Dogue de Bordeaux is a French breed, bred to guard, hunt, and fight. Early on, it was common to see the Dogue de Bordeaux guarding a wealthy Frenchman’s home, or dominating in the fighting ring. Today, these powerful dogs have loyal and affectionate personalities, and are considered “gentle giants.” They are patient and calm, do very well with children and have fairly low exercise requirements. The Dogue de Bordeaux is an excellent sweet-natured, companion who is eager to please and loves to be around his family.
